The Fowler 52-710-030 coaxial indicator has a 42.5mmdiameter continuous dial, a 6mm axis offset measuring range, 0.01mm graduations, an accuracy of + or – 0.005mm of true center, and can be used at any angle at speeds up to 800 RPMs for accurate centering and positioning of components in most machining applications. The 0-50 continuous dial remains stationary during spindle rotation and has a total measuring range of 6mm with 0.01mm graduations. Three internal and three external feelers and a center point feeler have a 1/8" ball diameter and a locating accuracy of + or - 0.005mm of true center. The internal feelers have a measuring capacity of 4-300mm. The external feelers have a measuring capacity of 0 to 300mm. Locating accuracy to within 0.005mm of true center. Capacity depends on feelers installed, but overall range is 4-300mm internal diameter; 0-300mm external diameter. This product has 1 year full warranty offered by Fowler High Precision, an American company. If you experience any problem contact Fowler directly for warranty claims.
The set includes a coaxial indicator, three internal feelers, three external indicators, a center point feeler, a restraining arm, and a fitted storage case. Dial readings with three digits, 0-10-0 for example, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, 0-100 for example, indicate the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used for reading the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials.

Test indicator gauges, also called gages, are precision instruments that measure short linear distances. They are commonly used for detecting deviations from tolerance limits, such as small variations in flatness or height of an inspected workpiece, and permit measurement in narrow grooves or small bores. A test indicator gauge consists of a ball-tipped contact point on a levered arm, also called a measuring insert, which pivots from a hinge point. The reading indicates the degree of angular displacement of the arm. Test indicator gauges are commonly used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Standard test indicators measure the displacement of the arm perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and electronic indicators are very similar to test indicators, except that the axis of measurement is parallel to the axis of the indicator. Test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation.
Fowler, an American company, manufactures inspection and measurement instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and digital scales. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Newton, MA.
